TOWNSHIP OF TINY
The largest Township within Simcoe County covering 343.20 sq km (132.5 sq mi) with 76 kilometers of sandy, rocky, natural, deep or shallow water beaches and wetlands. Exquisite flora an fauna are major attractions with miles of hiking, cross country skiing, snow mobile and other off road trails through pristine wilderness.
The region is home to Awenda Provincial Park, the Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area, Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, which is in an important nesting ground for Trumpeter Swans.
This area is believed to have been discovered by French settlers (missionaries) around 1610, however it was already inhabited by Natives (Wendake) and was known by them as Ossossane, the capital of the Huron Confederacy.
In 1798, The British Government purchased the land in the area and soon after established a Naval Base at what is now Penetanguishene. By the mid 1800s, families from Quebec began moving into the area for the cheap and fertile land to farm. In addition and due to the abundance of forests a lumber industry developed with the advent of processing mills and harbours to transport the product south.
Today, parts of Tiny Township are bilingual (French/English) and reflects its three founding cultures: Native, French, British.
While the regular population is fairly small, the region is large and is a popular destination for both tourism and cottagers.
TODAY
Tiny abounds in natural beauty and because of its geographical position has the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and in my opinion, is comparable to those found in the Caribbean. The naturalist or those that just love the outdoors will adore this area and will never run out of things to do or see.
To live here is to embrace a relaxed lifestyle that abounds with rereational activities in each of the four seasons.
The Township's Official Plan is to maintain its recreational, agriculture and natural resources base, and to restrict growth to present designated settlement areas, mostly zoned as shore line and secondary shoreline.
REAL ESTATE
Due to its popularity, Real Estate attracts premium prices for waterfronts or estate type properties. Affordable properties located on back lot water fronts or other areas in the community are plentiful and offer somthing for everyone.
Most of our area has been designated as Agriculture, Wetlands, Protected, or Green Belt, limiting options for land development, ensuring the tranquility of the Township and creating positive investment opportunities.
Whatever your requirements, personnel taste, or financial resources, Tiny Township has exactly what you are looking for and I would be pleased to help you find it, negotiate the right price, and ensure that you are legally protected.
I am never to busy to work for you, please call me when you are ready.
